Air Conditioning Repair in Metro Detroit, MI

Heaney repairs and installs AC systems for homes and businesses across Macomb & Wayne Counties.

When Does an AC System Need Repair Versus Full Replacement?

Minor issues like refrigerant leaks or failed capacitors are usually repairable, while units over 10-15 years old with recurring breakdowns are often better replaced. A Heaney technician inspects the system on-site and gives an honest recommendation. This applies to residential and commercial property owners across Macomb and Wayne Counties whose air conditioning isn't cooling properly, is making unusual noises, or needs full replacement.

Heaney Plumbing & Heating's NATE-certified technicians bring 55+ years of family-owned, locally operated experience to every AC call. The team is fully insured with after-hours availability, so help is there when you need it.

Air Conditioning Installation

Heaney installs new central air conditioning systems for residential and commercial properties throughout the service area, sizing and setting up systems properly for long-term reliable cooling, whether replacing an aging unit or adding AC to a home for the first time.

Air Conditioning Repairs

Repair calls typically address refrigerant leaks, failed capacitors, frozen coils, electrical issues, and airflow problems. Technicians diagnose the root cause before recommending a fix rather than guessing at parts.

Air Conditioning Replacement

When a unit is old, frequently breaking down, or costing more to repair than replace, Heaney walks the customer through sizing and selecting a new system suited to the property, then handles full installation and removal of the old unit.

Common AC Issues We See

Southeast Michigan summers put real strain on air conditioning systems. These are among the most common issues we're called out for:

• Warm air blowing from vents instead of cool air
• Unusual grinding or clicking noises coming from the unit
• Short-cycling, or frequent on/off cycling
• Water or refrigerant leaking around the unit
• Rising energy bills with no change in use

Any of these are reasons to call before the issue worsens in Southeast Michigan's summer heat.

Project Timeline & Service Area

A standard AC repair visit is usually completed same-day, while a full system installation typically takes about one working day once scheduled, depending on the property's setup. This is distinct from response time, which depends on when the customer calls and whether it's an after-hours request.

Heaney serves residential and commercial customers within their Mount Clemens location, across Macomb and Wayne Counties, including Detroit, Fraser, Roseville, Sterling Heights, Warren, Clinton Township, St. Clair Shores, and surrounding cities.

What Affects the Cost of AC Repair or Installation

Several factors influence the cost of an AC repair or installation job:

• The size and age of the system
• The type of repair or unit needed
• Ductwork condition
• The extent of labor involved

Heaney has not published fixed pricing here because costs vary by job. A technician assesses the situation on-site and walks the customer through the recommended scope and cost before work begins. Payment can be made by cash, money order, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or through available financing options for qualifying customers.

Furnace upkeep and maintenance. Was hearing a bomb sound and one other company couldn’t figure out the problem. They stayed working the furnace until they heard the sound I was hearing at least 5 times a day and resolved the issue. Happy!
